G’day, new here

Thanks for asking, this is making me put my thinking cap on what to do about it.
Doing a search for it here, I had it last year, but hadn't mentioned it before.
If I am in the sun too long my skin reacts to it and gets all pimply and stings. So I am normally in a man’s fishing sun shirt, hat, glasses ect. I burn very quick.
I'm pretty sure it came after the CoV jabs, after which I had nausea from moving for a few months (first 2) to weeks (3rd). That would make it appear a mast cell issue. But not sure how that works.
I am a lucky one, no reactions to my covid jabs and ready to book my 4 th vacs and a few weeks later will get my flu shot.
Explanations like sun poisoning or hyperthermia or allergy don't fit, cos I don't have a skin reaction, oand it's not dehydration (a headache from that recently in the evenings making me drink 4 rather than 3 litres).
You need an award for drinking that much water. I drink what’s needed and that it.
It takes less than 5 minutes if the sun is strong enough and if I'm only in it for short, it stops when I go into the shade, if I'm in it long the nausea can remain for hours(?)

I'm wondering if my cure-all cold showers can alleviate or prevent/reduce the reaction, otherwise I doubt anyone has an idea how else to try to improve it?
Have you asked you doctor what’s going on? Never heard anything like it before.

I don't think I'd even be able to even keep 4 litres down! The only time I was having wierd skin in the sun issues was when my thyroid was going under after (not long after I'd had my gallbladder removed) it must be challenging to "not" be in sunshine in australia? I always thought of it as a forever sunny place to be (I've never been there so I don't really know, I've got relatives in Victoria)
🧡 🦘🧡

Yes normally very sunny, hot and dry. The reason for my melanomas and many other skin cancer ops. I am still on 3 monthly full skin checks so they get found early and cut the suckers out. My skin is horrendous, hate it.

Come to Wales hun, you'll barely see the sun again : ), this is for you

I used to drink 1 to 1.5 litres, and asked GPs, urologist 2020 and nephrologist 2021 and they all said that's OK. With high urge, frequency and pain. Better if I drink only almond milk, worse if I drink water & tea. That amount's gradually gone up, partly from having to swallow the 80-100 pills a day in a way that gets past my stricture without blocking. Which meant 1 litre before each meal = 3L/d. With the same urge, sometimes leaks, frequency and pain off and on. Managed to control by adjusting (mainly increasing) GABA. So I didn't want to increase the amount above 3L, and I've always got a dry mouth regardless how much I drink, so I do sometimes cheat by using dry mouth gel, esp. at night. I do need to drink a sip of almond drink almost every time I'm up at night to calm my stomach and slight nausea. But all this curbing was then levered out when I had to admit to my surprise that the headaches in between meals was caused by dehydration, so I now allow myself to drink and I don't get headaches if I drink 4L. So no award, or rather my award is not to get 3-6h of headaches before meals .... The dry mouth is not Sjögren's, the bladder has absolutely no visible issues, and thirst could mean (pre-)diabetes, but my sugar bloods are normal and I have absolutely none of the risk factors.

Doctor(s)? :ROFLMAO: Oh the poor souls just look at me in amazement 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♀️... or hide it by looking down and stop talking. Occasionally like the surgeon for my mamilla the other day who cut me short, cos he'd confused himself - first he says he has to make a surgical decision which depends on my B-symptoms, then I describe possible alternate non-cancer reasons to my B-symptoms, and then he said, well he has to make a pure surgical decision... - so I knew it was me that now had to make the surgical decision, not him! (But it was the same decision: No.)
But OK, when onco checks me for (I'm now guessing) prostate cancer on Monday they'll be getting a full broadside of my old and new array of weird and wonderful symptoms.
Maybe they'll send me for a further merry-go-round ride, if they have any further ideas.

But helpful for me to know you're stumped with this, I actually thought it was fairly normal for us. But I've asked my MCAS people too, let's see what they say.
I often (always?) get sinus burning at the same time, sometimes a frontal headache, my typical histamine symptoms, so that's the idea I'll now be checking in to. Found absolutely nothing on the web about histamine and sunlight, unless via sunburn...

And I'll now be testing various body parts in the sun, incl. face, try sunglasses, praps vary colours, I'm wearing 2-3 black/dark hoodies, down to one dark hoodie when I'm warm enough.
My gut instinct is it's the chest area, but I feel it's the light and the heat and I wouldn't know how the light gets thru my clothes. Maybe it's a combination of 2 or 3 triggers tho.
Still have to wear 5 pairs of socks even in the blazing "summer" sun at the moment >20°C today, tomorrow at 11:00 full sun, but only 15°C and then more like 10-15°C next week. So lots of interesting conditions to test.
I don't think I'd even be able to even keep 4 litres down!
I used to not feel I could ever get 2 litres in, let alone down - well I don't think down'd bet the problem. Now I sometimes wondered whether this amount of drink would decrease my appetite, but doesn't make much difference, even when I drink it the best way for my esophagus and headaches, which is before meals. Wait a minute: Doesn't make much difference? What if it does? 1 additional litre? It would explain appetite and weight loss. Just not the night sweats.... Hmm.... 🤔 🕵️‍♂️ 🧐
I'm gonna go sleep now been feeing a bit peaky all morning 😴 🤗 👋🏻
Ooh, a new word, a new word! What's peaky? I'd've used it for a cortisol or histamine peak, which'd make me NOT want to sleep at all.... ⁉️ Hope you're sleeping tight despite the sun?!

Hope Mondays tests bring good results for you too Jay 🤞🏻🍀💚

Peaky = a little tired (out of sorts) kinda the way you feel after you've had blood taken or when you've not eaten properly (that kind of feeling) I did have a good sleep thanks, 👍🏻😎

I have a friend who uses peaky and poorly.

Doesn’t drinking too much water over work the kidneys and deplete the body of vit & minerals?

It’s good when you get on that merry go round but can get off.
Good luck for you app tomorrow 🤞🤞

Oh the sunburn, as a kid I copped it a few times.

That is a strange one. Could be the ultraviolet light maybe that gets through
My chest can’t be near heat, it feels like my chest is on fire when I am too close. No idea why but it’s quite painful.

Yep, true it can water down electrolytes so you get cramps, and from the over worked kidneys you get nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. And more. But seems no problem in my case, cos I feel de-hydrated and thirsty, not forcing myself, and I feel better from it. Headaches and nausea could be overhydration as well as de-hydration, but I stop them by drinking as soon as they come up. Doesn't make me go pee more. My "cells" don't swell, my brain cells neither. No cramping, no additional fatigue (I think), quite the opposite today (but I'm not sure how much I've been drinking the past few days). Webmd says men need 3.7 Litres actually, I'm very surprised at that, esp. when they say 8 glasses. (Whatever a glass is.... my wife's favourite glasses hold half a litre and she can drink them in one go if she feels like it.) If they're counting yogurt and veggie water, then I'd have to add that too.

Yeah, true, some seem stuck on them... Not me, up to now, usually it's dead ends, even if they occasionally find something.
Oh the sunburn, as a kid I copped it a few times.
I did get a sun allergy type sunburn on my shins from rowing on a river, that was an unpleasant sight I can tell you, close to gangrene for a few weeks. My back went pink and more quick too, so like you I did go for more protection. Fortunately the sun here doesn't get quite as nasty as yours.

Now that's a good idea! - Just looked up that cotton is worst and I wear pure cotton all over.
My chest can’t be near heat, it feels like my chest is on fire when I am too close. No idea why but it’s quite painful.
Ah, that sounds familiar, I'll think about that too.
Cos my testing today was clear: The sun was very bright at 9 and 10, but without its real heat, and that was OK. I looked close to in it for altogether 15 mins and another >1h face exposure: only 5% nausea. So it's either the heat or both together....

What's veggie water Jay, is it the wayer from boiled veggies or veggie smoothies with water added ? (my curious mind has woken up a bit) 😆

Similar, but more the opposite, is what I mean: A doc or two told me that because I eat most of my veggies and apples raw, I'll be getting quite a bit of liquid via that. So I shouldn't worry if I only drink a litre or two. Now things've slightly changed.... So if veggies are boiled there's less water in them.

Did I say?: I tried taking my supps after my breakfast and ended up only eating half of my breakfast and then forcing my supps down. So it seems it's not the drinking that's curbing my appetite at all.
