I am just trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my body.
I was originally diagnosed with fibro about 6 months a go, but then after blood work came back Dr said I could have lupus or Sjorgens. I have a high positive Ana and a high SS b ;he did a lot of other blood work and everything else was ok.

He originally started me on gabapentin for my pain and the was helping some and he added plaquenil after my blood test came back. We also added tramadol . I have been on the this for about 3-4 months. Well I am actually feeling less body wide pain than I have in a really long time, my deep tiredness is about 70% better.

I still have my pain in my shoulders, this was my first symptom. It gets severe in my right shoulder sometimes, almost feels swollen. I also have a lot of pain and minor swelling In my fingers on my right hand. Left hand hurts as well but more of a stiffness.

I have been getting hot flashes! I am in my late 30's and early menopause does not run in my family . I get 3-5 a day sometimes. They are killer. These have started slowly over the last 6 months. Pms has been killer and my monthly has been all over the place.

My body thermostat in General seems to have been reset. Last year I kept my house at 78 in the summer bc that's what felt good to me ( I was always cold) I would have been fine with 80, but my family rebelled ; now I am keeping the house at 73, and I break a sweat easily if I am up doing stuff!

I can't go without a drink in my hand because my mouth feels as dry as the Sahara. It gets so uncomfortable that if I forget my water bottle, I will stop at a gas station and buy one, I can not be without.

Any thoughts I am I going loony?

Hey, I have dry mouth also .it drives me crazy.mine is from a precription I take for RLS. Im going through menopause too. Im 55. I sweat really bad. I have fibro and arthritis. I take walks to help keep me mobile. Im on mobic and tylenol. I ask my doctor for something a little stronger because my pain is getting worse every day. She said to just keep taking the mobic and tylenol. Sometimes I cant make make it through walmart with out having to stop several time.

Reading your post makes me think about the importance of having a second opinion because the doctor can always get it wrong. You're too young for the menopause, I'd get a second opinion or get viewed by an alternative doctor.

Have you seen an endocrinologist... some of the things you mentioned sound a lot like you might also have a thyroid issue, actually isn't so uncommon, a lot adults do... some have an over active thyroid, while others have a very under active one.

Ask the doctor to get one of those thyroid anti bodies tests (sorry, can't remember the exact name right now), the test they usually order to check the thyroid is not conclusive. A lot people get a normal result, they're not diagnosed until they get the reuslts of the antibodies test I told you. You should do it as a precaution.

I agree with you, she really needs to see another doctor, preferably an endo doctor, no idea if her current doctor has thoroughly screened her thyroid, but I guess he hasn't, since thyroid screening isn't really universal, even now.

Hmmm what does I thyroid panel look like? I have had tons of bold work done? I went to my gyn and she put me on a low dose of hormone replacement. The hot flashes went away after a few days.

Unfortunately I've see this happen way too many times, people being misdiagnosed, doctors make mistakes so we should be aware of that.
