Bad Day

That's cool though @Badger listening to music is good πŸ‘πŸ» (got me out of a funk a few times + got me feeling more encouraged to get ready to wherever I have to/had to go at the time πŸ’œπŸŽ΅ πŸ’œ

Maybe the council can help badger, if you tell them you got a disability (+ fibro is classed as a disability) it'd be a shame if you spent lots of money if there was a way you could get it all sorted for less (we struggle with a lot as it is) I get that things can take longer and get all drawn out (certain things get dragged out with me too) it's just an idea so you won't have to spend a lot πŸ‘ŒπŸ» 😎

@SBee
I also keep a list on an app on my phone. Many of the items are recurring, but some are one offers.

There are even some mornings when I will go through my list for that day, and I just know it's going to be a bad day for me, and check off a whole bunch of stuff for tomorrow or for some other date in the future.

I think if most people knew I kept this app and used it, it is a Microsoft app so at least I know millions of people use it, that they would kind of be like oh wow that's really anal. LOL.

For me, the list is both good and bad. It's good because it truly does help me not only to remember to do certain one time things, but it really does remind me to do things I have to do everyday like take a medication at a certain time or take my dog out at certain times of the day, for example. But I also every day look at the list and think okay what is ingrained in my memory now so good that I don't need a reminder anymore, and I will delete that item. Because I'm really trying to simplify my life overall, not make it more complicated. I'm trying to strike a balance. I don't know if that makes much sense, but I suspect it will make sense to you.

Like you, I prioritize everything. Some things on my list have a 100% priority. They absolutely must be done everyday. Other things, they could be put off for months. πŸ˜‚

I am a lifelong gardener, and I'm in a new home I bought in September. There is much work that needs to be done on the landscaping here.

I'm anxious to get my hands dirty and start growing things, but at the same time I'm a little anxious about whether or not I can do it properly by myself. I feel so embarrassed about it. It was a time when I could work all day in the garden.

It's going to be one of those things that I need to Pace myself at, and keep reminding myself that the garden work is not going anywhere. Fortunately, the HOA does the mowing and edging. I'm just wanting to put in a couple of landscaping gardens myself, add some outdoor potted plants, and make a few more areas more practical in their use.

They're laughing emoji has been here and I have been unable to delete it. So even though I don't know what I'm laughing at it's staying. I'll just say I'm laughing with myself.

I will laugh with you @JamieMarc (I'm always up for the laugh) ps it's not at all anal (here we go blushing again, doesn't take a lot honestly) to keep and make to do list's (we have memory issues/fatigue and thing's need to be done that take us much longer so....) I hope both garden's are done soon so you can have a nice barbecue/picnic or just a nice drink (and fresh air) πŸ₯‚πŸ§ΊπŸ“

Oh @Auriel really? Anal is a perfectly medical word you know !😘 ❀

Hiya @JamieMarc I would be so lost without my daily lists! Due to my natural fear of techy stuff I stick to pen and paper. I admire you saying some tasks stay on or get forwarded to a future date - to be perfectly honest some things of mine just disappear into the wilderness never to be thought of again.... I am also a bit mixed with the need to write many things down. It helps with the brain fog,yet sometimes makes it plain in front of me that I have the actual need to write so much down in the first place! 😞 BUT it takes away some of the stress and anxiety in effect, as you say making things less complicated. A solution to a problem. I take that as a positive approach.

Wow a new garden to design and begin work with. Is it going to be hard not to get carried away and do too much at once? I spend days staring at a bit in the garden before knowing the right approach. I always try to get the structures right first ( we moved her 9 years ago so worked with existing trees shed and greenhouse) we added a rose arbour to break up the middle bit. Butto the last couple .of years, health meant not doing much bar crucial maintenance, I stopped growing most veg, except small stuff in the greenhouse. End of the day home grown food costs 10 times more than in a shop but the taste and satisfaction in priceless.

Are you limited as to what is allowed in you neighbourhood? Any rules or restrictions? A decent area to sit and breathe is vital I think. Exciting times and a new sniff area for your dog too! Don't be so anxious about how much you can do. Any garden evolves and you need to evolve with it at your pace.

I am so happy to laugh with you, along with naughty @Auriel. Me and my husband take the pee out of each other constantly in a very soft manner, never to hurt. Maybe the little laughing icon just wanted to join in...

Yeah, I guess the laughing icon wanted to be part of the fun. Good for it!

@SBee there are some limitations. We cannot grow fruit or vegetables, nor can we plant trees. Fortunately, my lot has two beautiful oak trees already, so most of my garden will be a shade garden.

I'm very excited about getting started, and yes it will be difficult for me not to have the strong urge to keep going and keep going and keep going and get it all done so I can enjoy it. On the other hand, just like decorating the home, I also find it enjoyable and exciting to let things evolve slowly and gradually. So I will take baby steps. I also consider every plant I choose. I strongly prefer native plants. I consider structure, color, suitable conditions for whatever plants I choose and cold hardiness. By sticking with native plants, I need not be too concerned with watering once they are established, and I just really love planting native plants. Some of my favorites though are not native and I will stick a few in here and there.

But I do like to, as I said, after I get the edging put in and the soil amended etc, add one or two plants at a time, and then take some time to enjoy that and consider what the next plant will be. Same thing with my indoor decorating.

Being on a fixed income and a single income, it will be slow going but I'm okay with that. As long as it goes. LOL over the years, my new home will evolve with new and favorite pieces and plants, and every addition will be exciting for me.

I am rambling again so going to shut my mouth now. LOL. Wishing everyone a beautiful day! 🌻

Can you please teach me how to reply with quote? I have tried everything and cannot get the specific quote I want. Every time I try I get the whole post.

@JayCS
That's a great idea and one that I've already thought of. Some of the flowers that I am choosing are well known to attract butterflies and hummingbirds, and I also plan to have a bird bath and a bird feeder. I already have lots of squirrels living in the oak trees, and they all seem very happy and have made their home here. πŸ˜πŸ’―

Can you please teach me how to reply with quote?
Hehe, sure. There's many ways, these are some:
1) Take the whole quote, then delete what we don't want. We can also edit, e.g. I put ... for what I delete.
2) Best for 1 quote: mark the bit we want, then choose "Reply with quote" that pops up to the right above.
3) multi-quote: Mark each bit we want, then choose "+Quote" that pops up left, then go down to the writing field and click on "Insert quotes", there we can choose to change the order, or delete, then click "OK".

Don't know how everyone else does it but when the post comes up I delete the sections I'm leaving out and keeping the sections I need in, then replying underneath βœ¨οΈπŸ€βœ¨οΈ
