Rdanchise, just a thought that I mulled over with my work. I started with working part-time, then my physician put me on a month off for medical leave. It ended up being extended for a total of 6 months. My work discouraged me from "quitting" and so they ended up letting me go on a disability separation. They agreed that it would do a couple of things. 1) Hopefully help my request for social security disability, and 2) is not in my personnel file if I should by chance get better and want to reenter the workforce. It was a very respectable way to end my almost 30 year career. I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your employer, but if you really feel your days are numbered, start strategizing (with or without their help). I'm a very competitive person (used to play sports). My goal is to get it the first time. I've told my husband that my last job is to get this approval.
Just think about what you can do to set yourself up for success. If you don't have a medical trail, start seeing doctors and get into specialists. If you've already done that then start talking with them about your thoughts. Remember, it's your life that is impacted in the end....There are websites that will give you advice on how to win. Unfortunately, I found them after I applied, but much of what I did is in their list. It's still really good information. I'm not allowed to give you the website information, but just google "Fibromyalgia Digest"....Good luck and hang in there.... Gentle hugs...
