I am here after a winding journey...I was diagnosed with fibro 15 years ago, then told it wasn't, went down multiple rabbit holes trying to figure out what it was, and now back to where I started...fibro diagnosis. I have tried almost every drug and they either don't work or the side effects were too bad to continue. Finally settled on IV lidocaine infusions and steroids. I've been on steroids for a while, they make me feel 20 years younger but not great to be on them for too long so Dr just...
So I decided to join this forum because I don't have any other answers for my chronic neck pain except fibromyalgia, which was told to me by my neurologist. I was seeing an orthopedic doctor for over a year and was getting steroid shots. They only help for a couple of weeks at a time. I then got a second opinion Ortho and they said I had a rotator cuff tear and it was my shoulder not my neck. I had shoulder surgery and again no change to my neck. I finally went to see a neurologist because...
I haven't been formally diagnosed, but everything I've read leads me here. Quick recap... I'm 63. Owned a sandwich shop for many years. It's a lot of work. But I have always been in good health, so not a problem. For reasons of CA payroll increases, utilities, and cost of goods increases, I decided to get out of the business while I could. I decided to sell my bldg and just retire. After 46 yrs in business, it was quite an ordeal. Back in October, I started feeling pain in my legs when...
I am a seventh grade history teacher in California. I’ve been doing it for 25 years all in the same school all in the same classroom all the same subject. I think I’ve had fibromyalgia for about 48 years. I’ve dealt with this pain and misery since I was five but more on that later. I’m currently experiencing a flare set off by the death and long illness of my mother. She died the day before her birthday. She did it so that she died at the same age as my father down to the hour. It’s whole...

Hi, just call me Aviella. I’m just posting to introduce myself and say thanks for creating a place where others understand. It’s nice to know others understand without having to explain it all / expecting me to justify life experience with fibromyalgia. I’ve been living with fibromyalgia for over a decade. So I’m sure many here understand the then and now and gruelling process of it all. I’m just hoping to be around more people who get it.
Hi, my name is Tracy and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 10 years ago but in all honesty I think I have only now just started to accept it. I'm struggling so hoping to find some useful information to help me cope.
Hi, my name is Mary I have been dealing with fibromyalgia pain for many years. I hope to find insight to help me on this painful journey.
Hi everyone, I have been diagnosed for almost two years and there’s not many places that haven’t caused me a lot of pain and discomfort. However I’m currently dealing with the worst of the lot, Feet that chronically hurt when I put weight on them and they get insanely hot (like putting your feet in a hot bath) once I remove my footwear it calms down, feet aren’t hot to touch at all and look completely normal. I’m now only really wearing sliders or lightweight trainers, same problem. It’s...
Hey guys. New member here. Had fibromyalgia for a few years but newly diagnosed (finally). Never been much into forums but honestly have been feeling so alone despite having a super supportive husband. I don't have anyone else going through this condition who I can really talk to. So hi 😊.
Hi, I was diagnosed with FM & CFS in 1991, in CA. Now live in Louisiana and need a doctor who believes FM exists and will treat with pain meds. Please believe me when I say that I’ve tried all available treatments in my 44+ years of this horrible disease. I need a doctor in my state. Thank you. BHB
Hey I’m Emma I have recently only just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after months of back and forth appointments with the doctors and hospital. My pain started in May of this year and has progressively gotten worse and worse and it’s all over my body with the pains being in my legs, hips and shoulders the most. I have searched high and low for help and just being looked at like “it’s not that bad”, even told to leave the emergency doctors as there’s nothing they can do. I have cried...
Hello all! I found this forum a couple of weeks ago in a really low spot emotionally for me. I am in college and this semester has been very difficult and stressful. I've started new medications with weird side effects, developed pain in new areas, all while taking more classes than I normally would have and transferring schools. I actually developed chronic pain when I was 16 and now I'm in my 20's. They originally diagnosed me with Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome and, funnily...
