Well @JamieMarc when it comes to age I always say I'm coming up to my prime...Seems UK only offers the shingles jab age 65+. I have heard how truly horrible it can be to suffer shingles. Sorry this is an other health issue that had hit you. My( much missed ) Dad had it once and I know how poorly he felt.
but yes, I would have it when offered. Some of us need that extra protection. As this was my first year of multiple jabs, I did a little research ( who me?) and followed advice from others - I spaced the timing of the jabs,at least 2 weeks apart from one another to try to not overwhelm my system as much, as I felt any adverse side affects might induce a flare. Maybe something you may benefit from in the future?
but I fully understand the way we have to arrange or days - if we know our bodies have no real choice but to be overworked, or preparing for possible side effects, then we do need to ensure we have adequate days ' put by ' to recover. Pain in the ar*e or ass if you prefer.
and we all know what can happen if we carry on without that rest. My old friend Boom and Bust comes along.
I do read up on any new meds, or vaccinations, as you know I have vegetarian values I abide by. I'm no fool, I would not deny myself a med or jab if it is essential to my health, but occasionally a more 'animal friendly' alternative can be offered, such as I chose an egg free flu vaccine. Indeed the Vegan Society recommend if our health is threatened by avoiding essential meds or preventative meds that do not reach vegan standards they should actually be taken.
good luck my friend on Shingles Pt 2. I understand your feelings of trepidation.
