Meditation stupid question time

No floods fortunately but we're in for a few days of rain after a warm weekend.

@fibrofoxy an interesting practice I've heard of is using a dissociative state. Ideally sitting somewhere where you can look far into the horizon, keep your eyes open, relax your gaze, and notice the breath. Focus attention on the horizon and the breath with eyes open. According to doctor Andrew Huberman this helps one become less aware of internal sensations.

I used to love to meditate like this on the beach at sunrise when I lived in Daytona Beach, looking at the horizon over the ocean.

One can also do this with eyes closed and focusing on the "mind's eye." It's difficult to explain what that is, but it's like closing your eyes and focusing at some spot in between the eyes. It's one of those things that's easier understood when done than said. LOL. But it works the same way as badger describes.
