Hello to you all! Can anyone advise on how to get an official GP diagnosis? Most GPs seem not to "believe" in fibromyalgia and recommend hot baths and cups of tea, while I am in excruciating pain. If you know of a good GP in the Bath area (or even Bristol or the Cotswolds) please let me know!!! Many thanks in advance

Good morning @mama1213 and welcome

Whilst I am nowhere near your area, whilst doing some research I found that the Royal United Hospitals Bath, (nhs foundation) do offer fibromyalgia self management programmes.
I wonder if it is worth contacting your non supportive GP and asked to be referred there, ( am pretty sure nhs patients have the right to ask for a referral for any condition?).
or failing that, contact the hospital in Bath and explain your difficulties with your current GP. They will be used to working with many GPs who use their service, and could recommended someone to you.

Sadly we have all come across such GPs etc and we need the extra support from professionals as well as those who live with this chronic condition. I hope the forum can also offer you advice and support too. Take care

hi!could you please also give more info if possible on what conditions you are suffering from?how the doc diagnosed fybro?are you having any surgery or pain clinic follow ups.be great to give us a bit of a insight into your condition.you’ll find great help on the forum with more info.doctors usually only refer you to the pain clinic if you are diagnosed with fybro.take care
