Has anyone had any experience with Fibro clinics -- or short-term/long-term Fibro treatment centers? I am specifically checking out the Mayo Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Clinic in Minnesota. It apparently involves a 2 1/2 hour evaluation by first a nurse, then a doctor. If the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia is confirmed, and they feel the "self-management session" would be beneficial, the patient is then referred to their program of group sessions led by nurses. I have not researched how may days these sessions take.

Other long-term treatment centers I've heard about are through the University of Missouri and probably many other universities throughout the country. Also a network of Fibromyalgia Centers of America. Can anyone share any information or comment on any of this? Thanks!

Sorry, but I don't have any information on this, and in fact did not even know these clinics existed. I don't think there's one near where I live.
But I didn't want you to have no responses, so I am wishing you the best of luck with this and hope you will report to us how it goes if you decide to go to one of them.

I had not heard of these either, but I sure do wish there was one here in the Tampa Bay area. I do know we have a Mayo clinic in Jacksonville, but that's much too far for me to travel. And I'm not sure that insurance would cover the expenses. Heck, I would travel out of state if I knew insurance would cover the costs.
If you find out more will you please comment here? I'd be interested in hearing more, and I will make a note to do some research myself on this.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this! I have not heard of these clinics but I will surely research it and share my findings here. It would be such a blessing if we had them here in Texas also. Also , if insurance covers them. Help at last!
