Hi- Rheumatology appointment next week after years of fatigue & pain symptoms.
I have IBS too and has got worse over past few years. But what I really notice for about a6mth+ now that no matter if my poop (** sorry TMI warning !) soft, normal, constipated , After I get a lot of abdo pain and thigh pains. Pretty high level of pain. Will ease over half hour with painkillers & hot bottle.
I have told GP. I had FIT faecal test but no blood. I had colonoscopy about 4 yrs ago which normal.
I just wondered if this the fibro and "mis firing" nerves causing this ?? Anyone else ?

Also recent yrs previous totally manageable cervical tests /PV exams manageable, down painful & kicking.of pain for a few days really badly. Could this also be the fibro ?

Any time that a new symptom appears, you should have it checked out by your doctor.
We with fibro often tend to attribute anything that comes up to the fibro because the symptoms are so many and so varied, but you should always check in with your doctor when it is something new because it could be something else.

Thanks. I have told my GP & did a FIT (faecal blood test ) and no blood. So it's been left at that. I've had pelvic ultrasound and told as I've known for several years I have multiple fibroids. But gyne said emphatically (a man!) that they would not cause me pain.
Now that pain more wide spread is why I've been trying to 'believe' nothing wrong with bowel/gyne and maybe believe the fibromyalgia hypothesis!

Hi.welcome to the forum.sorry to hear of your symptoms it can make your life a misery as we know to well.i certainly wouldn’t rule out fybro, has the doc done checks out on you for fybro,m.e?.sent you for tests for neurological conditions?.its a minefield, sorry to be a pain, docs can be a right nightmare diagnosing and getting to the bottom of what’s causing your symptoms.if you’ve been getting pain, ibs for quite a while ask the doc for fybro test,m.e test if you’re suffering from extreme fatigue.don’t give up!its your body and you know how you feel.they don’t like being bugged, but sometimes it’s the only way if you’re getting no joy and your in extreme discomfort.hope this helps.i’ve suffered for 30 years from fybro.bit of a veteran worst luck😂take care and don’t give up👍

With regard to the pain from internal examinations @kcc73. ( excuse me getting into delicate ground here!) If you mean you are getting a lot of pain and discomfort internally on the examinations, and knowing you are on hrt, could this be hormonal? i.e vaginal atrophy. If so, and your hrt regime doesnt include this, do speak with your gp to check this as its easily and greatly helped with a topical cream.
