Can you check my symptoms, and tell me if it sounds like Fibro?

For the last few years I get pin pointed areas of pain/soreness on various parts of my torso.
Literally I can feel ok everywhere apart from one spot the size of a penny that is sore and feels heavily bruised. The very next day ikt may appear in a slighly differnt place!
The main areas are in my back, neck and sides(flanks). And I rarely go 3 days unaffected. its really hard to explain to doctors, and i have tried all sorts of pain relief and muscle rubs.
I am at a loss, does this at all sound like a Fibro thing?

Thanks for your time.
David

Hi David, and welcome.
To me, this doesn't sound very much like fibromyalgia.

What has t he doctor said to you about this, and what tests did they run?

Generally, fibromyalgia is not diagnosed unless the pain is generalized, on both sides of the body and upper and lower body, and until tests for all of the other things that can cause this kind of pain have been done and all of those things ruled out. And there are a lot of other things.
What you are describing doesn't sound at all typical of fibromyalgia, so I personally suspect it is something else, but I am not a doctor, and am only giving my opinion because you asked for opinions.

If your doctor has not run any neurological tests or blood tests you might want to start e xploring that.

Hi @DavidL I concur with @sunkacola that's what you are experiencing doesn't quite meet the definition for a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. Just wanted to give you a second opinion.

It does sound odd and I'm at a loss as to what you might have. Depending upon where you feel the pain is coming from in your body, I would also recommend either a orthopedist, pulmonologist or neurologist, starting I think with the neurologist since the pain is appearing in different areas each time and I ultimately received my diagnosis of fibromyalgia from a neurologist.

I wish you the best and I hope you will come back here and give us an update if you find out something.
