Advice needed and appreciated…

how I am, and in effect, how I am 'Labelled' is no ones business but my own, and those I need to\choose to share it with.
Very, very true.
Recently, I encountered that "but you look fine" attitude and comment. Internally, it riled me up a bit. Externally, what I did was put on a smile, look straight at the person, and say "That's nice." and then I turned around and walked away, leaving the person to take the response however they chose.

Ugh! People can be so clueless, ignorant. How can anyone be so stupid as to think that they can judge a book, much less a person, by it's "cover." Seriously! I don't get the "you look fine" comment so much, but I do get those people who complain or "confide" to me about their awful pain. That naturally leads me to comment upon my own, depending on the person. But once I do, I often feel dismissed because they immediately respond with yet another comment about themselves. So let's add selfish to those adjectives I used at the beginning of this rant. Now, when I encounter those people, I DON'T encourage them to go on any further about their pain or condition or whatever after their initial complaint. I just say "I'm sorry to hear that" and change the subject...something to that effect.
