Hi, this is my first time here. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia my junior year in college right before I turned 20 I think. I'd been experiencing pain since high school but since I was always a dancer I always attributed it to pushing too hard in dance or being sore from practice. It wasn't...

Being identified as officially 'disabled' by the CRA can substantially reduce one's taxes, depending on a litany of parameters and (deliberately ?) vague Hell-th Canada regs
Has anyone here suffering from FM/CFS/IBS applied for this status ? If so, and you actually convinced them, for...
Hello all, Doobie Brother here, just registered for this forum as after suffering alone for a decade, I need to ... vent
I worked as a medical lab tech for thirty years, but have been on disability for a while now. My interests and passions include all things nerdy, guitar and bass...
I received a letter from SS wanting me to go see a psychiatrist one last time before a determination is made. Should I take this as a good sign or a bad sign?
I have been handling my fibromyalgia diagnosis for about 3 months, along with the degenerative disc disease diagnosis that I received at the same time, pretty well. In September, I suddenly lost use of my left leg for unknown reasons. The best guess anyone gave for this happening was a nerve...

After months and months of hard work and seeing Doctor after Doctor and many specialist I have finally got a Hearing coming up for disability. It is in five days from now and its going to be over the phone. I am really nervous because I have alot of trouble concentrating and forgetfulness which...
Does anyone know if you get turned down for social security disability by the ALJ can you file again and have any chance of winning? It would seem to me once the judge rules that would be the end of it but I have had people tell me to file again and see if you can win.
Has anybody on this site had to go before an ALJ. If so did you make an attempt to do your hair and makeup (if you are female) or did you just roll out of bed, throw on some clothes and go to your hearing. On days where I don't have anywhere to go I don't even bother getting out of my pajamas...
