My doctor in 2012 diagnosed me with FMS, but I disbelieved her, buying into the "we'll say that when we can't figure out what's wrong with you" myth. And I lived the next four years as if I were a well person and nearly burned out completely. A new doctor diagnosed me with FMS again and told...

Hello, I've been sick for a very long time and it took years for them to diagnose anything. So I got fibromyalgia as a diagnosis and from reading your stories it seems accurate. Also I think my pain is alot higher than average. It will be good to know some people who share my symptoms and...
Hi - am new to this forum ... apologies for short sentences or phrases... too tired to type more - now it's 2am in my morning here - have had insomnia and fatigue for last decade and recently pains got worse. Went to do checks and scans and all, specialists and docs all telling me there is...
Diagnosed w/ FM yesterday, although I am no stranger to chronic illness.
I have been off work for a couple of years w/ a diagnosis of "severe hypersomnolence" in the absence of any other concrete diagnosis.
After a couple of night time studies, my insurer required more evidence that it was...
Hello everyone. My physician's assistant recently encouraged me to join a fibromyalgia support group so here I am. Like many of you, it took a long time (a year for me) to get a firm diagnosis, which I received just last week. Even a year ago I suspected I had the syndrome but my P.A. dismissed...
I was recently diagnosed with FM back in March. This has been about a 3 year process and

Though I've been having increasing pain (and other symptoms) over the last couple of years, I was only diagnosed with fibromyalgia last week. My rheumatologist also thinks I have Sjorgren's syndrome or some other autoimmune condition (maybe lupus). I just had blood work done today.
On one hand...
I think ever since my husband's diagnosis I've been all over any news articles about fibro management, about new research and so forth.
I was wondering if we could maybe have a "fibro in the news" section so we could discuss current news pieces about it?
Thanks for your consideration!
In my research to help hubby with his diagnosis, I've learned a bit about celebrities or famous names that are battling fibro.
The biggest name to me was Morgan Freeman - and this helped my husband a lot, as many of the support things we had seen thus far had been women-oriented.
The actress...
My husband is 31 and was just recently diagnosed. But I guess what I am wondering is if there is any 'average' age of diagnosis? Do symptoms peak at a certain point in someone's lifespan?
How old were you when you were diagnosed?
