Are you awake a lot
Anyone else find that even if you get a good 6 or seven hours of sleep you still feel tired the next day? Not the same brain numbing tired as when you only get 3 hours of sleep for several days, but just not energized.
Currently, I wake up only once each and every night. Just two years ago I awoke several time each night during a seven hour sleep. Back then I was under so much stress working a job just to complete the requirement for the pension. Later, I continued working because I wanted those benefits. Now that I no longer have to work there, I noticed I can sleep through the night with only awaking once. Yet, I never feel fully rested.

many with fibro have associated sleep disorder, but here are two factors. First i allways feel tired and worse if i sit/lay in a slumped position on the couch. feel rotten when i half sleep and wake up. Second waking during the nite from pain disrupting my sleep.
So to get a solid sleep (but thats only part of the cure) I take my prescribes anti depressants,LAROXYL 50MG slow release pain killer TRAMADOL 100MG, sleeping pill thats a real relaxant,ZOLPIDEM and a disolvable 1000mg of paracetamol BUT THAT ONLY ALLOWS ME TO SLEEP 5-7 HOURS after waking ( hands and arms in pain and locked up ) I am still tired. This is not drowsy from the drugs...but from fatigue.. so now if i go back to sleep for 3-6 or 7 hours i can wake up not feeling tired. so im sleeping between 8 and 14 hours and it's variable on how much work i did during the day.. Actual getting up, showered, and a few coffee's later i can get stuck in to a task as long as i dont over do it and get tired. I have days when the time just races by and get nothing done..like im in a fog.. other days i can push myself and get things done but suffer the next day from any exertion.
A massive help is to have a pleasant task to do first. This motovates me to get up early and start the day befor lunchtime. Most Sundays i get up early to ride on my motorcyle to car boot sales. I love it though by 14:00 im done in and need to get home and rest. I then watch tv ( motor racing) and often fall asleep or get very drousy.BUT AT LEAST I HAVE DONE SOMTHING. No day is perfect and every one depends on the prevoiuse days efforts. falling asleep during the day is bad news but unavoidable. sitting upright in a dining chair will help to stay more alert. and helps prevent dozing off.

So it you want to sleep better. do it in two parts, the seccond sleep is allways the one that recharges your battery. try and do things without over tiring yourself.and rest in a sitting up position (Dont slouch on the couch) . I still get worn out and tired and cant stick to my suggested plan very often but when i do it helps a lot.. so give it a try. and good luck.

I am a 'caregiver' my girlfriend struggles with fibro what are some of the top things that help you feel better

I have found that 5 HTP aids in sleeping for those who suffer the sleeping issues. Now it is better to ask your doctor when using this because we all know drug interactions because of the chemistry of our bodies, but it is said it helps to produce more of serotonin in our body which is the sleep chemical that makes us sleepy or stay asleep. It has list of benefits and of course warnings for it. I would suggest you contact your doctor before you even take it and discuss the possibilities of using this supplement.
