Allodynia
Definition:
Allodynia is pain a pain on the surface of the skin that is caused by something that shouldn't cause pain. This is a common symptom in Fibromyalgia sufferers. This pain can be caused by light pressure from clothing, a gentle massage or even someone touching the skin gently. This pain originates in special nerves in the body called nociceptors that are used to sense things like touch or temperature.
