I was a patient at Ellen Cosgrove's practice for several years back in the early 2000s for my FMS but I never was actually seen, examined or even MET the doctor. I was only seen by her PA Sharon Shannon. When Sharon left the practise, the new PA tried to refer me to a psychiatrist. When I said that I did not need a psychiatrist, he said that I did because I wasn t getting any better. He also let it slip that he did not believe in FMS and that they were no longer accepting patients with that diagnosis. I demanded to see Dr Cosgrove and was not allowed. He said Dr Cosgrove felt the same way he did. I have since heard that other FMS patients received the same treatment and were dismissed from her practice. Even if this decision has been reversed, this is hardly the atmosphere in which an FMS patient should be subjected.

I just read this person's comment and can't believe it's even true. I've been seeing Dr Cosgrove for several years and she's wonderful. Very caring and thorough. I don't know how she never got to see the doctor because that would have been the first person you meet when joining the group. She diagnosed my fibromyalgia and has been treating it.
