Dr. Felix Fernandez-Madrid, MD, PhD

I saw Dr. Madrid for the first time today and I hope to never repeat the experience. I have been a patient @ WSU physician group for a few years now. I am being treated for Fibromyalgia. I am on multiple meds, my SLE has been in remission for about 4 years. But recently I have complained of burning stabbing pain in my feet and all over my body. One of the Fellows there in conjunction with another doctor prescribed Cymbalta & Gabapentin. Diagnosed as neuropathy (no diabetes). During my visit today I am explaining to Dr. Madrid that the pain is worse, hard to function or work. He says why is your eyes red. I'm looking confused, I say I don't know, possibly tired. He then says " do you know you are overweight?" I'm flabbergasted!! I say yes but that has nothing to do with this pain, he asks me do I like to cook and looks at my arms, saying he sees burn marks. I don't have any burns. I was so offended & angry, because along with those drugs I'm on methotrexate & folic acid, so there must be something wrong, so when I didn't agree, he left the room, never returned. I then asked for a medical records form because I will never be returning, i forwarded my file to my new doc. Just be careful of docs like him, too old to be helpful and no one telling them to retire.
