Efrain I. Cubillo

Dr. Efrain I. Cubillo IV, a native Arizonian, received his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Arizona State University, then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the highest academic honor in medical school. He was also elected by his peers to receive the Gold Humanism Award, which exemplified his humanistic patient care. He completed his Anesthesiology Residency at the Mayo Clinic where he was awarded The Mayo Clinic Spirit Award, the most prestigious award for a Mayo resident. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Cubillo is trained in all areas and techniques of pain medicine including physical medicine and diagnosis, neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome, sympathetic blockade, spinal injection techniques, spinal cord stimulation/implantation and radiofrequency ablation.
His interests outside of clinical care include spending time with his wife and three dogs, traveling and hiking. He is fluent in Spanish and is thrilled to serve the Tucson community.
