Anyone else experience this? The best way to describe what happens is like this: on TV when they show someone looking through a peephole, they show the person on the other side is seen as though through a stretched circle. I've had this happen twice now. It only lasts a few minutes. Is this a fibro thing or should I be following up on this?

Thanks,

Lorna

Not sure if it's a Fibro thing. Vision can definately be impacted. What's more important is have this checked out. Any number of conditions can affect vision, high blood pressure for one. My advice is to see your family Dr soon and have it investigated.

I think visual migraine can do this..but no pain necessarily..like medicmurphy if concerned maybe get it checked..im the worst at that myself though and get blurry vision and bouncing walls and words off the page when my fibro is super bad or i'm stressed because of the pain.

My vision went strange about 3 years ago, I got it checked by my gp told to get my eyes checked which I did and I wear my glasses all the time now. My gp said fibro can affect vision but I would still get it checked out just to put your mind at rest.

This past year my vision is impacted by Fibro. My optometrist can not correct my vision and he says its most likely the Fibro affecting connective tissue to the eyes.

That said, it is wise to eliminate serious health issues by seeing your family Dr. Hypertension, diabetes, migraine, are a few possible causes, without getting into more serious problems. Because FM affects every body system it is easy to conclude that is what's caused your visual anomaly. It wld be a mistake not to follow up on it to be safe.

Thats probly nothing to mess with. Make a eye appointment.

Hi HsMommy,

I've never experienced that eye symptom specifically, but. I have experienced eye inflammation with Fibro.

Had gone to emergency room with severe eye pain and pressure behind my eye. They mistakenly diagnosed me with a corneal abrasion.

Since I knew I hadn't injured my eye in anyway I went to the Optometrist the next morning.
He was glad I had come ,because he looked into my eye and saw that my cells my eye were inflamed( Iritis)
He stated that Er can sometimes misdiagnosis this and can be dangerous because could be treated wrong. I was put on prednisone and my pain went away in 2 days.

It was something I had never experienced but have experienced another time after that.
So I would definitely not ignore any eye symptoms because u never know.
Go see an Optometrist so u get the right diagnosis and treatment.
Hope your vision improves

All good advice above, fibro, can cause many things but just because you have fibro does not mean other health problems cannot start up. I suggest you see your eye doctor right away. Our eyesight is our window to the world and you don't want to take any chance of losing it. Wishing you the best of luck and let us know what is wrong if they find anything.

You are correct Willow, re: migraines impacting one's vision. I get them fairly regularly, after any sort of physical exertion. The first thing that happens is small, fuzzy-edged blind spot(s). These spots grow in size fairly quickly, particularly if I don't get to an Advil asap. The actual headache comes about half an hour later. It occasiionally is so bad I am pretty much blind. Had these since I was a kid, but back then it was maybe once a year or two. Ah, to be young again
