Was wondering if anyone else has slow transit constipation
I don't have the slow transit type, but certainly frequent periods of constipation. In Googling this condition, I discovered that it can be present at birth and occur in children. One treatment is some kind of electrical stimulation of the nerves and is supposed to be painless. Apart from other more invasive procedures, improving coping skills seems to be the only option.

Hi, thanks for that, I'm just wondering if it could be connected to my fibromyalgia, I've recently completed the transit pellets test and I'm just waiting to see what the consultant comes back with, it's not looking like many are having the same problems as I do which makes me think it's not connected, ty

I don't think this is connected to fibromyalgia, as it is not a symptom that is known to be common at all in fibro people.

@Argyle
I recently discovered through my Pharmacy the best constipation relief I have found, and I have pretty much tried them all. The primary ingredient is polydextrose, a fiber supplement, and I have found that it works much much better than psyllium for me, or anything else I have tried for that matter.

I get them sent to me in gummy form, and I take seven gummies a day: 2 in the morning with breakfast / food, three at lunch time, and two at dinner time. It keeps me regular everyday and my bowel movements are much easier and smooth.

If you try it, be sure to take the first dose with food as I had an upset tummy and even leakage the very first dose. The next day I found that taking food with it solved that problem.

The brand my Pharmacy sends me is called fiber well.

I hope this helps you.

@JamieMarc that's very interesting, psyllium helps but I shall try to find something with polydextrose in the UK.

@Badger
Hope you find something with polydextrose, and I hope it works as well for you as it does for me. Fingers crossed! 🤗

@Badger
@Sueb24 mentioned prebiotics. Polydextrose is also a prebiotic, so two benefits from taking it.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience. Fingers crossed! 🤞🍀

Don't be surprised if at the first dose you experience any leakage. As I mentioned before, I did and I called my pharmacist about it. Turned out it was just a one-time thing, and I just started taking food with the morning dose. Never had any trouble with leakage after that.
