After another bout with kidney stones and some elevated parathyroid levels my doctor ordered a bone density scan (Dexa scan). I had my bone density scan Wednesday and they were already contacting me Thursday morning to tell me the results were abnormal - it indicated osteopenia, not quite osteoporosis. The doctor wants me to just keep taking the RX for Vitamin D and wait to see the endocrinologist I was referred to but it looks like I also have hyperparathyroidism.
Anyone else with fibro also experience this?
My symptoms have been really difficult to control the past year or so. I'm hoping that this will lead to a better grasp on my chronic pain and fatigue but I'm also worried about it resulting in surgery.
