After being diagnosed in 1999, and I've worked on the FM label all these years.... I believe SO MUCH needs to be addressed:

Thyroid
Adrenals
Hormones
Vits/Minerals

I do all the above and continue daily and take MILD pain meds. Ibuprofen and Pain RX herbal pain supplement.

MSM in higher doses daily for pain reduction.

I worked on my sleep remedy and MOST nights sleep 8-10 hrs.

FM can be managed and often gotten rid of. I have OA issues and mess of joint issues and a hip replacement mess, but Fibro NOW is my least concern.

I work with B vitamins and Magnesium is huge for the Fibro "STUFF".....

We can get better and improved if the above are addressed. J

Do not even post this fibromyalgia can be cured or so managed you can live normal or better BS

false hope and lies I'm sick of forums that post this crap

Every fibromyalgia is different none is the same allot like me and others we have chronic fatigue chronic pain and I have 20 or so between mental

And physical problems and I have had all of the above for life yet mainly sore tired etc no big fibromyalgia symptoms until my late 30s then

It hit like a rock medical community is stumped by these luls quit in the storm seems over or you don't have then boom it hits

Want fibromyalgia help sleep eat balanced home cooked not box premaid frozen no fresh meat fish chicken nothing radical allot less eating out

once a month or less I prefer diet tea and pop try to keep that to a couple times a week tap and well water make me very sick I have to drink distilled

Or reverse osmosis water my body chemicals make up what ever vitamins supplements drinks v8 etc don't work for me that really sucks

I wish they would so much don't or don't work right

Sorry I get really sick of one in a million rare cases saying that there's cures

More on MY Theory: I had been taking pycnogenol and grape seed extract, powerful antioxidants, 4 yrs before the alleged FM diagnosed, so my immune system could have been much stronger than most who believe they have FMS. I'm not sure on any of it, but know the drug companies run to make money on drugs they fashion for FM.

I'm headed into my 20th yr on these powerful antioxidants also called OPC's. I'm not sick and am all so much worse since hip replacement TRAUMA in 2010. THis is my story. I was diagnosed in 1999 with the FM. But again, believe it's so much HypoT.. J

I'm so glad you have come up with things that work for you. What you need to understand and I think im-grouchy-and-bite is trying to say, is that statements of absolutes, like, if you do this, it will solve the issues for all those with fibro. Unfortunately, it doesn't work this way. It's wording like that, that can frustrate people. A basic example? Any of us would DIE to get anywhere close to 8-10 hours sleep. Don't think that those here haven't tried to "work on sleep remedies".

I have had fibro for probably 15-20 years. I have been to so many specialists, tried so many different methods and have not yet come up with something that will stop this disease from its progression. Over the years, my health has steadily declined and new issues have cropped up. It has cost me tens of thousands of dollars and still, I was forced to leave my almost 30 year career.

I have personally tried so many different meds, methods and vitamins to solve the various tentacles of fibro. I'm here to tell you, those things you've posted above? Don't do squat for me. I take mega various vitamins daily and have for several years, including B vitamins and magnesium. No change. I have colitis and IBS. I can't take ibuprofen. I take a daily anti inflammatory. Took it before the colitis diagnosis and it doesn't seem to cause flares so far. I have pain meds and take them as needed. Unfortunately, the dosage I'm on isn't working well anymore. I think many of us take pain meds. Some don't. They manage their pain in other ways.

I can see you are excited about what works for you and I'm so, so happy it's working, just be sure you treat it as such, rather than stating it as a fact of solving all fibro sufferers problems. If your post above were suggestions and hopes, many would be much more receptive.

I'm really trying not to be rude or or make you feel bad, just trying to encourage you to be sensitive to those who have tried multiple things to make our lives more tolerable. I've tried. I've done a lot more than try. I have had to make life-changing decisions and pray they work for my family because I haven't found the magic solution. I'll stop here.....Good luck to you. I hope you can continue to do well.....

Well, I believe if someone said to me, I "think" I feel much better since taking grape seed ex for so many years. I suggest nothing, but say what I believe helps me so much. Getting thyroid supported for big starters ... as I said I've on another group for 8 yrs and MOST work with supps, there are no absolutes. I know absolutely though that I have no colds, no flus, and believe it's the immune system. I've been working with supps for 25 yrs.

I often think the drugs can be worse than the conditions. I took a pharma anti inflammatory in the 80's and ended up in the ER with a stomach ulcer.... So I have been waking myself for many years.

And yes, why not look at someone's sleep "cure" that gives them 8-10 hrs sleep. I worked hard on a combo.

I'm not telling anyone "to do anything"....it's what I have done and do. I personally enjoy hearing GOOD REPORTS from folks that talk about "what's helped them"......

jaminhealth,
I agree with terbaer and im-grouchy- and- bite, this website does not allow people to come on here and make claims of complete cures for fibro. We are encouraged by success stories that hold value in lessening pain or dealing with the many symptoms of pain and fatigue, but you seem to want to shout from the rooftops that your way is the only way and that you can cure everyone.

If you persist in this way of talking you will be banned from the site. I suggest you read more and talk less until you get a true understand of what other members have been through and are going through, and if all your talk is leading up to trying to sell something on this forum then I would strongly suggest that you move on. There is no cure for fibro. If there was we would all have no use for this forum.

Oh so I'll be accepted more if I moan and groan,,,not my nature. SOme days I could cry and scream here alone and I do somewhat but I've worked long and hard to try to be more positive. I just KNOW things could be so much worse so I'm thankful. Thanks for your tips.

Meditation can do wonders!

jaminhealth, Not all posts are doom and gloom. We are happy that what you have tried works for you, however it doesn't mean that it will work for everyone. I am taking a ton of supplements including Magnesium and Potassium. I take thyroid medication as well. I have my ok days and my yucky days. Just happens that today is a yucky day. Got up and walked the treadmill just like a did Friday morning. When I went to work I had some energy and although some soreness from walking, wasn't feeling too bad.

Today I hurt all over. My legs really hurt and I have no energy. I took 3 Ibuprofen and am waiting for them to kick in. So far no rhyme or reason to it.

This discussion reminds me of when my husband was diagnosed with MS. There were so many theories on what would help decrease symptoms and people would swear by them. But they don't work for everyone.

We want you to post. A lot of people could probably use your support. It's just that blanket statements can be frustrating for those who have tried so many things and those things have not worked.

Jam,

I see your are trying to pass on some knowledge that you have on the fibro and your theory. thats great and helps all of us.
we dont think its better if you moan and vent. we just know it helps all of us understand each other.

that they are all trying to say is. watch the wording that you use when posting.

your title said it was your theory.

i took it as just that. it was very interesting to me to see what has helped you.

But to say it cured you and you are still taking the supps? not a cure at all.

The supps you mention work for you and it seams it maybe worth a try by some.

but, your wording sound like you are trying to sell us the supps?

what do you do for a living or did you do?

whats the name of the support group you use. is it live or online.

please tell us more about the group. we are all interested in finding one that is in our area.

thanks for sharing with us.

I ache all over today and every day....I have lower back MESS as well...so it's all connected. Sitting here everything aches, lower back, legs, knees....and the hip replacement stuff.

Thanks.

But I don't get SICK, so something I do is working....perfection, I never said that. It's all management.

Hi, I'm not trying to sell a thing, I'm retired over 10 yrs and working to keep upright. Pushing 77 which is pushing 80.....UGH. I worked for 40 yrs at probably 10 different professions....

I attended a live support group in the beginning, they have folded, and the online group I don't think I can mention it here. But they are sponsored by a major supplement company out of santa barbara, ca. the owner is challenged with CFS.

As I posted in my original posting, I and I said I, believe FM and thyroid are so connected....I struggled for 10 yrs trying to get thyroid HELP but that wasn't happening....an ostopath called in thyroid support on the phone in 2002, and the 10 yrs of depression lifted.....no labs nothing. So my history is what I talk about. And the endo who diagnosed me with Fibro, I don't know to this day....there are so many symptoms of HypoT and over the years some have said FM and Thyroid are so connected. J

I think in the olden days it was called rheumatism, a rheumatic pain, which I feel in my shoulders and arms mostly, but I have injured shoulders so who knows. the injury could be causing the rheumatic pain in my arms. which I do think is happening for many yrs.

But with all this I do sleep good, and guess a high pain threshold...lots of aching going on.
