Medical Providers Unhelpful/Dissapointing

I have been in a lot psychological pain recently, and then some flare issues. I had both a partner who frequently discounted my pain issues. Then I had doctors literally refuse to manage my condition. This was a more rural Rheumatologist, then a regular GP. I was treated like a Leper? That is my impression. I have concern I am developing Addison's as well. This new Dr. wasn't willing to run a more basic adrenal blood test. Then she said the local ER wouldn't treat me if I had an emergency.

It took a while and some asking around, but apparently this local hospital(private) is extremely picky with income and insurance and barely treats anyone.

I have lived in this new are for only 8 weeks this week.

It just occurred to me that I haven't had any really decent medical care in 5 years since I left a major metro area over 700,000 people.

Moving may be my best option. I am finally were the cost of housing is more manageable.....Do I have to choose between health care or housing?

Wherever you go there are good and bad doctors and clinics. If this place that has treated you so badly is the only one near to where you live now, then it may be necessary either to drive farther to see a doctor in a different place or move closer to a place that has several clinics. It is terrible that y ou were so badly treated, and many of us here can relate to your experience.

I do not and can not live in a city, but I can get to a doctor or clinic in 45 minutes to an hour, and that works for me. Maybe y ou can do some searching in a town or city that you can drive to, if that is possible for you to do. Would be worth trying to find such a thing before you start thinking about moving.
I am so sorry you had such a bad experience.

The for your support.I have a lot to think about. This city I am actually in has a great opportunity thru Medicaid and a Dental school/Clinic and I desperately need a lot of dental work. I will check on what can be done regarding rides to specialists.
