I am not new to fibro but am new to these forums so hello to all! I am having pain in one knee for over a week now. This is new to me. I have had knee pain before but never for this long. I wasn't even sure it was fibro related but it seemed to have started with some damp weather and worsened after moving some furniture so fibro was my first thought. I was wondering if anyone had experienced pain in just one knee for several days and if so how did you treat it? It is really hard to work and my work involves stairs which makes it worse.

Hello and welcome!

yes, i have had chronic knee pain in my left knee on and off for a while now..
I am a side sleeper and discovered that when lying on my left side, the left knee feels like it is digging into the mattress.. by adjusting how I lay on that side and taking some of the pressure off that knee, it has improved a fair bit.

Welcome, Rara56, Any time that you have a new symptom, you should have it checked by a doctor ASAP. In this case, I would say that goes double because you don't want to take any chances with your knees. Because we have fibromyalgia, we sometimes tend to attribute any new pain or trouble to that, but to do this is very dangerous. It may not be stemming from the fibro, and if it is something distinct you need to know what is going on so it can be treated properly.

If stairs are making your pain worse, then continuing to use the stairs in spite of the pain is a bad idea, and could lead to a worsening condition that will not end well. I know what I speak on this - see a doctor.

I fully agree. I'd think any kinds of exercise etc. we could suggest might make it worse, if you don't know your body well. So if you did try youtube videos for knee pain they would need to help immediately. Acupressure for knee pain on the other hand would only be a matter of trial and error, I can't imagine that making it worse. But nothing should put you off getting it checked as soon as possible.

Gel injections are paid by ins. This time they didn't work so I am having prolotherapy done next week. Ins usually does not cover it but I had it done on knees and feet 5 years ago
and I had NO pain for 3+ years.

Not all insurance companies will pay for things like that. Of course you'd have to see a knee specialist first in any case to be sure that would be a good thing for you.
