Just feeling SO. RUN.DOWN. Went to the gym yesterday & barely made it through a lighter workout. Sat in the sun before that- and I really think the sun *absolutely* zapped me! Still so so fatigued today, even after good sleep. I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Does anyone else get zapped by the sun and lose *all* energy?! I mean, walking across the house takes effort.

Sun doesn't zap my energy, but it does for some people. I wonder, though, if it might have been the workout instead of the sun?
You could try working out without sitting in the sun and see how that goes. If you still get worn out, you might need to go even lighter with the workout or do it for a shorter time.
Really good for you, though, for doing a workout! It's very important to keep your body moving.
It's hard, and I know that feeling of everything being a lot of effort. some days are like that and I completely empathize with you.

I completely agree to not sit out in sun on the days I workout. I think that was a mistake! Eek. Thanks so much for your input!! Hope you're having a feel good day!!

What kind of working out do you do? I'm always curious as to what people are managing, and what tweaks they're making!

Uhm never did happen to me, though you might have stayed under the hot sun for too long, or was it too hot?

I go to Planet Fitness & do their 30-min circuit & walk the treadmill. I also do chair yoga at home and an arm weight video from Youtube. Occasionally, I do Leslie Sansone Walk-at-Home videos. Also on Youtube, but everything is these days. 😉
How about you?

It was warm that day & I came in when it got too warm. I've had the same reaction going golfing with my husband (I don't golf, I drive the cart) and going to flea markets. Not hot days, just sunny & beautiful. Just being out IN the sun- not even heat- gives me fatigue.

Pre-fibro, I did a lot of weight training, horse riding and mountain biking. Now, I can't do anything too heavy - it totally flaws me. To begin with, I couldn't manage much at all, but as I've got better at managing my symptoms, I've been able to start swimming, walking, and doing light Tracy Anderson-style weight workouts. Throws that warrior-woman persona I'd cultivated right out the window! I loathe the limitations - makes me want to have a tantrum - but I'm getting better at accepting it. It seems to be all about balance - if I clean the house or do something else that takes a lot of energy, then I can't exercise on the same day. If my body starts to flare, I have to dial everything right back and wait it out.

I seem to be one of the fibromites who get triggered by heat. I wouldn't say that being in the sun per se causes me to flare or fatigue, but I do experience photosensitivity. We all seem to be a little different - it's great to figure out what impacts you so that you can steer around it.

Yep that sounds about right! 😂 We definitely have to pace ourselves. Too much in any given day is a no-no. I went to the gym yesterday (no laying out) and I'm fine. But the 2 on the same day was not a good combo, apparently. 🤷 I agree it's all about balance... the limitations do stink, but we know the consequences if we overdo it, unfortunately. Thanks for your reply! Have a great weekend!
