I just read that some research has been done at Tel Aviv University and Rice University and some other universities I can't remember. The CURE for fibromyalgia is hyperbaric chambers. The patients were treated for 90 minutes, 5 days per week for 2 months. Not symptom relief, but a cure.
Hyperbaric chambers are used for deep sea divers. They are also used to speed healing. I have a friend who had this treatment after avsecond round of cancer surgery. Biggest risks are fire in the chamber due to high oxygen level. The other risk is more extreme reaction to free radicals that can cause cancer.
This report came out in June 2015. The cost can be anywhere from $200-$1,000 per treatment. Some chambers are for single use and some are as big as a hospital room and can seat several people. This is considered a medical treatment and requires a doctors prescription.
Let's hope all of our doctors hear about this research soon!
