@DR18 and @evans hope you both find the forum and friendly and supportive place, in terms of help and advice and also just a nice place to be.
DR18 - think you chose a good place to find your first forum. Havent been to the IOW for donkeys years, like a lot of families it was a beautiful place to holiday when I was a child, especially as it involved an actual journey overseas! Welcome.
If you have any specific fibromyalgia questions do ask, generally someone who can help or at the very least understand.
Welcome, @DR18 . I hope this forum proves to be a useful place for you.
How long have you had fibromyalgia? Do you have any questions about it that we might be able to help with?
Hi nice to meet you. I also live in East Cowes because of my not going out a lot, I’m quite down well depressed at the moment. First time for everything eh!. Hope you’re not too full of pain.
Hi sorry I’ve not got back sooner. I’ve lived here 9 years. As I don’t go out that much, I’m a bit friendless. Sorry bad grammar. Hope you’re having a good day.
Hello @DR18 dont worry about spellings or grammar - mine can be awful and sometimes it can actually use a lot of energy just being able to post even a short question or reply. I know having fibromyalgia or chronic health conditions can seriously make us feel isolated - and loads of people on this forum know how hard it can be to try to explain what its like living with fibromyalgia. I hope you get the knowledge that the forum members can understand how you feel and offer support.
Have you seen a gp regarding you feeling depressed, to ask for some help? I myself initially was on an anti depressant then came off it, but later had some talking therapy via my gp referral. This may be something that can help you? Am now on a different far lower anti-anxiety med which helps me a great deal.
Thank you for even answering me. I don’t know I guess I’m just weary of strangers. My GP isn’t very helpful I’m afraid. I take solpodine max dissolvable. It calms down the every day pain. All I’m worried n is Amytripatilene. Probably spelt it wrong. Would you be surprised I wrote a book once. Paid to have it chapter edited. Where are you in East Cowes?
Hiya @DR18 if its me you are asking I am not on IOW, more Hertfordshire area. I am not always comfortable in a face to face drs appt. My surgery has the facility to write a comprehensive message to them. I find it is easier to write things down sometimes, as it gives the chance to say all we need to, and can take our time over it. This might be an option for you?
Medications can be a bit of a trial and error. What works for some doesnt for others. I take amitriptyline ( I am rubbish at meds spellings too). I find this helps the nerve pain from fibro.
Hi Diane (hi too @evans), I have fibro (with CFS) I have anxiety too (narcissistic abuse, stalking harassment repercussions) my chronic fatigue and gabapentin wipe me out tired (it makes social life challenging,) we should be as careful choosing our friendships as relationships (I learned that the hard way, ) it's a nice forum, what's your book called? (i listen to audio books on my headphones sometimes (it occupies me)
