Oh dear, Forgetmenot, that's tough!
Really nothing, have you gone to citizen's advice an' all?
Is the type of cleaning something where you can pace well enough?
I remember a year ago talking to a nice woman cleaning a staircase and after 5 or 10 minutes we found out we both had fibromyalgia. (She had even been deputy for the fibro support group here, as the head hadn't done the job well, but found it too taxing, as everyone was just moaning, whilst she wanted to change things, keep spirits up, like us here). What was I gonna say? - ah, yes: She said she'd tried various jobs and was now working for a housing company where she had quite some freedom how and when she does it. And like me at home she used breaks, task-switching, certain physical techniques so it wasn't too taxing and was doing quite well, actually enjoyed the work, sort of being her own mistress. I do think like in my everyday life it's possible to do things like this in this way 'for exercise'. However my limits are overhead tasks. Altho that said, I do clean our windows every now and then, in a sort of 80%, quick quick and multi-tasking way.... On bad days indoors if I still have the urge (will, not pressure) to get something done, like clean up from letting the guinea pigs run around, I do tend to do it on hands and feet...
Yep, definitely wishing you luck, but also the creativity to devise your own techniques and praps a sense of pride.

Ty Jay. I also have GPiggys I have 3 baby's atm 7 weeks old .to flipping cute .
Well it's a pub and 5 bedrooms..Best in the morning .Well as best u can be.and il do 3 days one week for the next .also the other cleaner is a friend of 30 years so if I have a bad day she will understand. So we will rotate .I've got to give it a go and try whatever i do.or il never know.plus it might give me a little bit of a life instead of feeling like my liges just ticking away

Ah, how sweet! But as opposed to humans they stay sweet, don't they!? 😄

That sounds great. Is she flexible enough for quick switches?

That's an attitude! Keep us updated! Starting this week?

Good for you, ForgetMeNot. The more we are able to do that is productive, the better we will feel about ourselves. And sometimes doing more will lead us into being able to do yet more than we did before, if you go about it the right way. And it seems you are going about it the best way. I am sending you lots and lots of good luck, and hope it goes well for you! You are a strong person, and I think you can do this.

@Forgetmenot well done on getting yourself a job and back into work. You should be really proud of yourself. Since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and having 7 months off work, I started a new job working 3 days a week. I love it. I enjoy the job, I love the fact that it doesn't drain all my reserves and working 3 days out of 7 means I get 4 days of down time.
Oh, and great news on the piggies. I've always had guinea pigs up until 2019 when we lost Hamish. We vowed no more as it is just so painful to lose them. He lived to 6.5yrs and had the best life 💟

Hi yes my mummy pig had 3 babys .its been so fun watching them grow.
U now have 7.but no more .I can't see me selling the babys .every day about 3 pm I go out and put wrapped ice packs in.there straight on them .It's so cute to see.and they sit there for about two hours just cooling off.i have umbrella up and all sorts .so unless I know someone will do the same to keep them cool.and of corse warm in the winter there staying here lol

But bad news on the job front,The guy who offered the job now wants me to work 8 hours .I just can't see my body coping .he wants me in the kitchen after the cleaning.its upset me as that wasn't what was offered at the time

Good to realize in time that he'd be trampling on your toes and everything else as much as he can...! 👐

Oh well done!!
When we had ours out in the summer we always had them in the shade with sheets over their cage and did the same as you with the ice packs. We even bought Hamish a fan!

That's an idea - we sometimes use a fan. But I always try arguing that they originally come from South America, so should be able to cope with heat (which may not be right...).
As regards cold: We've kept getting the last ones from a farmer, where some were kept in an enormous stable paddock with about 50 males that weren't being sold, and it was lovely seeing them interacting in such a big space, like in a zoo. That stable wasn't heated tho, and it didn't seem a problem at moderately cold temperatures.

I totally agree Jay about being from Sth America. The thing is these little furry fellas have evolved and now live world wide in a myriad of conditions and climates.
I always made my decisions based on a western lifestyle and our weather conditions. Because ours always lived indoors, I would never have exposed them to winter temps outside. The same went for summer. When it was extremely hot, it would be curtains closed in the house, ice packs/cubes and a fan.
They are amazing little animals and we have had a few over the years and each and every one of them has had their own unique personality ❤️
