Delete account

This seems wrong and possibly not legal
I want to delete my account and find I can't.
It's all very well saying just don't log in anymore, but my details are still out there for hackers etc to see.
This can't be right ... it's my business .. I should have the right to delete my account.
There was no mention of that when I joined .. had I known then I wouldn't have joined.
Really not happy about being made a fool of and will warn others.

@daveyt ...I am sorry you feel you've been made a fool. I don't know why you feel that way, but sorry the forum is not working for you.
Since you have not put any personal details on your profile, there is nothing there that anyone can use, and if you have not put personal details in any of your posts, then there is nothing that a hacker can use to cause you any harm, so please try not to worry about that.

I do not have the ability to delete your account although I could, if you want me to, delete all of your posts. Would that help? Let me know. I don't want to do that unless you ask me to.

I never knew that, so thanks for making me aware. I think people should know that when they join they cant delete their account.
I don't think i care if i cant delete my account, but i still think you should have been warned about this.
Is there anyway that you can delete your posts? As then no one will be able to see any off your private business. Or anywhere in the settings where you can make your posts private. Or only available to people who have joined this forum as you might help some people with your posts. Can you change your name or email address. Im sure people who get married will want to put their married name. Im sure you can find a way round this. I hope you can find a way to do something. Surely people wont be able to see your name. There will be many people with the same name as you. What is bothering you most. The fact that you cant delete your post or people can see your posts or maybe its both. Wishing you all the best.

@Grace3 : I have offered to delete @daveyt 's posts for him, and will do so if he asks me to.
On most internet forums as far as I know there is no way for a member to delete their account.

But if there is no personal information in the member's profile, then there is nothing that anyone could use to do them any harm or to hack into anything. In the case of the OP on this thread, there is no information about the person on the profile page, no name, no email address, location or other information, and I do not have that information either. So there is no private business to see.

I will delete the posts that daveyt made if he asks me to. If there is anything else I am able to do to make you or anyone else feel more comfortable on the forum, I will.
