I’m curious about pathway crossovers, mineral deficiency, and associated diseases. (Not fibromyalgia symptom complex).

Well I'm low in vitamin d (I take magnesium, b vitamins, b 12 and iron, cos I'm vegetarian, have been nearly 15 years) it's making a difference to how I'm feeling,) are you low in anything then? Or worried about other possible conditions?

B vitamins... hmm.... B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12:
B3 very high because I'm hyperdosing for lipids.
B6 high after taking some as generally recommended, I don't know if either were low before.
B7 very high despite not ever taking it, which is not a problem, but I'm curious what is increasing it, praps something else I'm hyperdosing like B2 or B3.
B2 very low, now in the lower area despite many months of hyperhyperhyperdosing.
B12 rockets for 4 months after injections, after pills didn't do much, now pills seem enough.
B5 better now after dosing high, it was pretty low.
B1 normal, so I don't take it.
So I didn't tick the box for "all" - or did it mean "any" B-vitamin? Lowest were B2 and B12, highest B7.

Do you have b12 injections then Jay? 🌈🪙

Whats this survey they've given us about? Are they connecting these things to Fibro? (don't mind a survey sometimes)👍🏻

correlation ios defined as
the process of establishing a relationship or connection between two or more things

the survey really can't determine the correlation of say diabetes to fibromyalgia simply by showing that both exist together. I have essential tremor and Hashimoto and fibromyalgia but there is no logical correlation between them
If you have low Vit D then it could be simply that you don't get enough sunlight not necessarily from fibromyalgia.

Yeah, my wife gave me belly shots regularly, until I saw from my bloods how high they were (trebled). Easy and cheap. As it didn't make a difference I'm now content with upper normal range, and my B9 pills have all 3 good types of B12 in them while the shots only had one (good) type....

I love that! (I don't know why I find it so cute, your wife gives you belly shots)
😙 💜

Yeah, on health forums, people like asking "have you got xyz.... too?" without doing anything with this information, just as a bit of comfort that they're not alone. Gingery's survey is just putting 8 of those question into one - saves time, and is a bit of fun for people (like me) who like ticking off things, and the results are "fun facts" or "trivia", if needed (not by me).
This is at most association, not, I agree fully with johnsalmon, correlation, let alone causality.
But unless a whole load of people now suddenly take part, which'd greatly surprise me, it's not even gonna end in any meaningful association. (Fun nonetheless.)
Also the load of 8 things might seem to want to paint a picture of a lot of us having all or at least some of these. But we can't see any profiles at all (of course).
Lemme add to the fun with a prognosis: Maybe 8 people will take part, and most will have low D3, but everything else "will" be spread fairly evenly, like already happened. The B-vitamin question contains the problem that most people will only have had B12 checked - even I've only had them checked recently, cos I've realized some may be important for my energy. And the magnesium question contains the problem that it seems very difficult to measure magnesium, or rather it's controversial: Some functional docs claim they can, mainstream says it's not possible in a meaningful way....

Thanks, @johnsalmon! (I was wondering what the survey was all about?) Yes, I live in wales (sunlights's a rare occurrence)

Oh, it's Gingery's survey, I did wonder (cos it was at the top of the post) but then I thought it was from dooi) I quite like these surveys👍🏻

Why the survey? I was just curious what the bigger picture looks like for us. What else are we all challenged with simultaneously. The survey accidentally posted before I finished with the list because I was interrupted. I’m actually really curious personally if anyone else is cold all the time. Is that part of fibromyalgia, or is that something else I am needing to address? For me, I also have gallbladder issues, which the doctors can’t figure out, but seems genetic. And the symptoms of fibro and gallbladder issues crossover. So managing pain is a question of addressing both. And does the low b vits contribute to the fatigue symptoms? Does anyone get relief from fatigue with b vit supplements?

cystic fibrosis has a link to gallbladder abnormalities not fibromyalgia however there may be people that have fibromyalgia and gallbladder abnormalities but that does mean that there is a link

Well I counted 30 diagnoses 2-3 years ago, you know for these doc questionnaires asking what else have you got and leaving one line for that.... And I think I could be around 40 now. Not symptoms, diagnoses, chronic. If pressed I spose I'd say FM & MCAS are the main ones, gracefully ignoring things like lipids, stricture, tumour.

Well pain from cold is the more common fibro symptom. It was one of my first, coupled with wind.
But quite a few of us can also be cold most of the time. I have to wear more layers day & night than I used to.
Many pairs socks is Raynaud's, which is a specific sort of "circulation" issue. My cardio regularly checks my vessels and circulation, so there's nothing there to "do".
But long johns most of the year now came from my CoV-jab-triggered MCAS, which also increased my socks from four pairs to 5. On the other hand that improved at night due to night sweats which came up after trying T4 and getting CoV. And wonky temperature regulation might actually be thyroid or viral.
For me it's never a question of is it fibro or something else, I got every single symptom checked by doctors, and I don't care if it is also fibro, I want to know if someone has an idea for me. So if you mean that you want to get it checked by a doc or to change something to improve it, I also would say both.
I've increased my cold tolerance using alternating or cold showers, I use added layers for protection, make sure I have all layers with me all the time, hot water bottle and heat pads to go, I am careful how long I am in the cold, like I have to keep everything I do and where I am short and be careful not to overdo it. I don't fear the cold, I love it, but like everything the dose has become more of a poison than it used to be.
For me, I also have gallbladder issues, which the doctors can’t figure out, but seems genetic. And the symptoms of fibro and gallbladder issues crossover. So managing pain is a question of addressing both.
Eric Berg, e.g. on youtube, sees a strong connection he calls "right sided fibromyalgia".
Yeah, I go further and say managing symptoms is a question of addressing each singly.
Any of them may have several causes and will have several ways of preventing and alleviating them.
And does the low b vits contribute to the fatigue symptoms? Does anyone get relief from fatigue with b vit supplements?
I hear people saying that. I doubt they make the slightest difference to my severe exhaustibility, if at all praps B2, riboflavin. Protein btw is another one to watch for fatigue, mine was very low....
