I was just curious what the bigger picture looks like for us. What else are we all challenged with simultaneously.
Well I counted 30 diagnoses 2-3 years ago, you know for these doc questionnaires asking what else have you got and leaving one line for that.... And I think I could be around 40 now. Not symptoms, diagnoses, chronic. If pressed I spose I'd say FM & MCAS are the main ones, gracefully ignoring things like lipids, stricture, tumour.
I’m actually really curious personally if anyone else is cold all the time. Is that part of fibromyalgia, or is that something else I am needing to address?
Well pain from cold is the more common fibro symptom. It was one of my first, coupled with wind.
But quite a few of us can also be cold most of the time. I have to wear more layers day & night than I used to.
Many pairs socks is Raynaud's, which is a specific sort of "circulation" issue. My cardio regularly checks my vessels and circulation, so there's nothing there to "do".
But long johns most of the year now came from my CoV-jab-triggered MCAS, which also increased my socks from four pairs to 5. On the other hand that improved at night due to night sweats which came up after trying T4 and getting CoV. And wonky temperature regulation might actually be thyroid or viral.
For me it's never a question of is it fibro or something else, I got every single symptom checked by doctors, and I don't care if it is also fibro, I want to know if someone has an idea for me. So if you mean that you want to get it checked by a doc or to change something to improve it, I also would say both.
I've increased my cold tolerance using alternating or cold showers, I use added layers for protection, make sure I have all layers with me all the time, hot water bottle and heat pads to go, I am careful how long I am in the cold, like I have to keep everything I do and where I am short and be careful not to overdo it. I don't fear the cold, I love it, but like everything the dose has become more of a poison than it used to be.
For me, I also have gallbladder issues, which the doctors can’t figure out, but seems genetic. And the symptoms of fibro and gallbladder issues crossover. So managing pain is a question of addressing both.
Eric Berg, e.g. on youtube, sees a strong connection he calls "right sided fibromyalgia".
Yeah, I go further and say managing symptoms is a question of addressing each singly.
Any of them may have several causes and will have several ways of preventing and alleviating them.
And does the low b vits contribute to the fatigue symptoms? Does anyone get relief from fatigue with b vit supplements?
I hear people saying that. I doubt they make the slightest difference to my severe exhaustibility, if at all praps B2, riboflavin. Protein btw is another one to watch for fatigue, mine was very low....
