Could someone glance and give a recommendation? The Dr we went to didnt impress. Talked fast and grouped everyone into fibro.

Couldnt get the saliva test but most blood worked looked ok except t3 and rh.

Thoughts are a thyroid doctor, not the fibro dr.

Didnt want to overwhelm with info, just copied and paste what we were given.

Appreciate any advice.

Saliva test back but they would not send results.

By looking at these I would say yes to a thyroid disorder. It also appears that you have a vitamin D deficiency. Your regular family doctor should be able to treat those. Why did your doctor jump to fibromyalgia?

That is what he specializes in (ha). She is tired, under much stress and low energy. Imo these type Dr's bleed you dry money wise if you dont search for answers. I have the gut feeling of not trusting him. People in his office have been going to him for 1-3 years as a "journey". No journey for us.

Thyroid doctor was our common sense next step. Will the saliva test tell us anything the blood test did not?

She does have a straight neck and a somewhat curved twisted t4-6 area from corrective chiropractor who helped her headaches by huge amounts.

She has very tender trigger points which his pt worked out with good success. This all started out with hurt shoulder after fall and hot flashes and no good sleep.

RH negative. Something to be concerned about?jc

Btw thanks for the response:}

Vitamin D deficiency can cause a huge range of symptoms and its definitely important that you start treating that and see how that changes things for you. I'm not a doctor (I am a nurse) and emphasize to always consult a doctor, multiple if your gut says keep searching. My advice is based on my limited knowledge, that being said, overall your bloodwork looks fantastic. And it seems your doctors ran a gammet of testing, which is promising but sucks when you don't trust the doctor reading your results. You said your T3 and RH are off... your T3 was within range at 2.42, correct? And I didn't see RH results listed.
What are your symptoms? That would direct what tests to request or who to see.

Thanks for the response Eff.
Symptoms are extreme fatigue for years. Stress job. Period always started during stress or excitement. Had Endometriosis about a decade ago. Obgyn didnt think hormones were problem. low sex drive. Does bad in heat.

Positive attitude, lots of volunteer work in past, she just cant do what she did in the past. This started with severe headaches.

Last month corrective chiropractor helped with severe headaches, xray results straight neck and curved back, rotated 4-6 area. looked weird. He has been great. Headaches reduced by a great amount.

So tired, stress, comes home and sets, fatigue for years. Weight gain all at once few yrs back ( still is very attractive btw) cant walk very long, hot flashes at any time. Mood is good, no crying.

The T3 at 2.42 looked ok after doing more research?

sleep off and on.

We get the saliva test results friday. What will it show? jc
Just dont want to be lead down the $$ path.

Compounding pharmacists looks like the next stop. So you "think" vitamin deficiency is suspect. Her diet is not great.

RH results just said negative. So I thought it didnt register? no values associated on test.

Sensitive to touch. Chiro did painful trigger point therapy on the neck and shoulder area as she is at desk and computer for hours.

Glad the blood work looked fantastic. This will keep us skeptical with Dr Fibro.....

Thanks for your help

Vitamin D you can buy over the counter at any pharmacy and many grocery stores in the vitamin section. Its fairly inexpensive (I take it as well, I pay $8/month). I tested borderline low vit D but doctor suggested I take supplements at least for now. Again, considering it's an inexpensive and easy way to determine if that helps anything, I think its a great place to start. I also recommend having her Vitamin B12 checked. Many people who don't eat well, myself included, have low B12 which causes a variety of symptoms including fatigue. That is another easy over-the-counter, inexpensive route to explore. I cannot make recommendations on dosage, but ask the doctor or pharmacist. The body excretes the B12 it doesn't need so taking it isn't in any way dangerous.
The Rh factor is whether her blood is positive or negative (ex: my blood is A+) so unless there's another RH test I'm unaware of, that doesn't matter much unless she needs blood transfusion.
I have no idea what they're testing for in the saliva, I'm curious myself.
Was the "fibro dr" a rheumatologist? Has she seen an endocrinologist?
Symptoms make me think hypothyroid, and considering she's on the low end of normal, there's a small chance she may be sensitive to being on the low end, meaning she feels symptoms of hypothyroid even though she's not medically diagnosed with it based on bloodwork. In my personal opinion though, it's most likely a combination of issues, possibly CFS and vitamin deficiencies, but start with the vitamins. If they help, fantastic! If not, at least you know and no harm done.
I also wouldn't rule out other hormonal issues, is she menopausal?
My physical therapist and massage therapist hit trigger points in my neck and shoulder area (latissimus muscle) as well. I HIGHLY recommend physical therapy, but in the least, use heat packs to soothe tense muscle or ice packs if the muscle is inflamed/overworked. And stretch, as much as possible as often as possible. Keep the muscles flexible, the fatigue leads to prolonged periods of inactivity, so just pushing herself to stretch keeps the blood flowing and muscles... well, more flexible even if they're still painful like mine. I take muscle relaxers after work along with heat & ice, then PT twice a week.
I just learned that my health insurance (a cheap one) offers discounted massages at certain locations and she should look into massage therapy as well. I've heard great things about but never tried- yoga, tai chi, acupuncture
I think I've written enough, hope it helps!

Eff, thanks again,
The Chiropractor today gave her some vitamins which he rarely does. Magnesium and others I have not seen yet. She is out of town.
It looks like this Dr makes his living ( nothing against) on women with these symptoms.

Chiro is making her do exercises, still tender but massage ( from me ) helps some. Sometimes life is just mean.

US health insurance is nickel and dime us to death as more drs, more co pays, more trips as we live in a rural area but it could all be worse.

These were the muscles the therapist painfully worked out as its was years before anyone could touch her on her neck and shoulders. She cried her
way thru the pain. She did good.

I will let you know how and what the vitamins are. Supposedly money back in 90 days if no results. Our guy is a straight arrow so no reason not to believe as he showed her the xrays and told her why her headaches were so intensive.

No needles, so the vitamins are oral and no acupuncture or dry needling. As long as she can get some sleep we seem to be doing better.

Thanks for now.

Its the deficiency of vitamin D. I think you should prescribed a health specialist which can help you out to get over it. Vitamins are the oral through you can get better results.

might be unanswerable but how long would it take for the vitamin d to increase.
I had a bottle of 50,000 iu capsules for one a week. Old one for myself.

So any idea/timeline?

BTW she did feel and sleep better after taking the supplements from the corrective Chiropractor.
I wont know the name or doses or ingredients till she returns Friday. I dont think it had the D in it.

So to make it more clear in my head. The vitamin deficiencies look worse than the hormone imbalance?

What will the saliva test really show as the b12, C and D deficiencies look very realistic.

A little exercise / stretching and myofascialrelease has been good. Not great but much better. Just the fatigue is the main issue ( only my opinion not hers)

I just dont want to fall in the fibro label when its not really hormone related? I just dont like to be played.

Saliva tests are sometimes done to check hormone levels like cortisol, a stress hormone. I would definitely see if her B12 levels are low or even on the lower end of normal. Check with her chiropractor, but I was told the liquid or sublingual B12 supplements are better. B12 supplement are a good idea anyway as we age since our ability to use it diminishes.

The RH test was for rheumatoid arthritis. As it was negative, you can rule that out.

Good luck with finding an answer. Fibro is often diagnosed by ruling out many other illnesses, combined with the trigger point evaluation.

Left the Dr Friday after the saliva test. Showed low thyroid or almost normal for a 49 yr old female. Dr mentioned the t3 and t4 canceled each out.
Script for compounding pharmacy for progesterone? maybe another ingredient too. ( i forgot what the script said exactly)

Told her the vitamin D level was the lowest he saw in a year.

The vitamins from the corrective Chiropractor was the same brand he sold. Maltic (?) acid, Magnesium, B complex ect. Sleep complex with 5htp magnesium and the other normal stuff. The percentages on the bottle looked kinda low for someone very deficient.

Nurse explained leaky gut. Really just the body not absorbing the nutrients. Should change the name I think. But who cares.

So we left with probiotics and vitamin D. She thinks the Myers cocktail will be magic. I think its a 30-40% hit rate. 75$ plus gas and time crap shoot.

She has a script for pig thyroid, low level for energy? Armour? 30units? 1/2 g
progesterone was at 46 esteroil (?) was 1.0 Cortisol 8.6 am.

We left kind of overwhelmed and I thought I was prepared. Wife was upset and overwhelmed too.

The nurse we spoke to was really skinny, mid aged, single, go go go. Gave us the natural non gmo food spill.

I understand the non gmo, natural diet, Wife understands but wants a pill to make it go away as she loves chips, salsa and dr pepper.

We live in a rural area where its wally world food. The natural meats and other non gmo is very inconvenient and cost prohibitive if done correctly
plus she has never eat anything like this.

So back to the nickel and dime to death trying for something/anything that works! Anyone else think like me? (should be rants area I know)

She just sets and reads when not at work. Housework is embarrassing as its me and my 21 yr old son. Cooking and clothes are hard enough.
We went thru the storms last year so house is to be somewhat remodeled. Bank wants appraisal before letting us have access to funds but its embarrassing what we cant do. So one step at a time.

Will this thyroid compound and pig thyroid plus vitamin D help? She slept a little last night but didnt feel like setting and reading all day.

Her work is very stressful and drs appts kill any schedules, co pays everywhere, you know the drill. It feels like a ship/whirlpool situation.

I like to do my homework, read many posts and responses. Wheres the hope? Raw diet, vitamins and supplements out the a$$. Hit and miss results it seems.

Paperwork was extensive, showed moderate fibro, severe adrenal problems, stress and aches and pains were severe. hot flashes and night sweats as well.

So anyone have supportive information or advice? Tough days ahead from the looks of the forum:} Sorry for the length and rant.
Might buy some Musinex tomorow...lol
