Hi, Newly diagnosed but I've had symptoms for several years. My pain currently (and have had spells of this before) is particularly bad in the front of my thighs.

Ive been seeing a physio since last summer privately , & saw her yesterday: she thinks it's not fibro pain (might disagree !) but is coming from 'L4' of my spine . So she given me exercises. Says might need MRI if doesn't improve as recurrent bad pains I've had.

Did a bit of googling !! It seems you can get spinal stenosis - separate I presume to fibromyalgia. But also read many with Fibro have thigh pain.

Its worse walking up stairs for example which sets it off.

I'll be pleased to hear if anyone else can relate or has any info.

Also , is it common Thanks.

I'll be pleased to hear

@kcc73 One of the most common kinds of pain I have is in my thighs. The whole leg hurts, both legs, but the pain is far more intense in the thighs, and this has definitely been attributed to fibromyalgia, because no test has found any reason for that pain. In your case it could be caused by something else, or could be the fibro. If a doctor were telling me that a pain originated in a vertebra in my spine, I would ask them to show me the x-ray of my back that shows what the problem is in that area of my spine. It's possible, IF that is the origin, that a chiropractor could help you.

So funny that you asked this. I was just thinking about asking a very similar question. When I'm having a bad day I get worse pain in the front of my thighs and the top/front of my arms, especially with any exertion (simply walking will do it). It's just always seemed weird that it's always the front of my legs and arms.

Hi. I also have weird pains and weakness in my thighs. Just the tops. It can get so bad, that I've needed a walker to even walk through the house. That's happened twice since my diagnosis in 2023. Sometimes it happens while walking, with no warning. No one seems to know why, though I also have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and Myositis, so it's probably those? I'm actually going for a 2nd Rheum opinion next week. Good luck to you! :)

Well I had bad pain there turned out it was my back,I had a protruding disk,

@Forgetmenot has your disk been treated ? Are you still in pain in thighs ? I was interested by your comment as I've been seeing a physio (started seeing her before I diagnosed with fibromyalgia) and she thinks my thigh pain to do with my spine - specifically L4 , : ? If I have L4 stenosis.

She showed me how lying on back & pulling knees really tight to chest can ease the pain - & often it does.

Well I ended up having a op as my disk went up my back.long story short I then got mrsa and Spesis.was on a pik line for 10 weeks a d nearly died. But the hospital was where I got the mrsa. But I do know any thigh pain mostly comes from the back.i was just bloody unlucky

Thigh pain is usually the biggest sign that I'm in a flare up instead of the normal everyday pains.

@lamby, hi lamby👏🏻, do you a tearing feeling in your thighs? (after the tiredness that was one of my 1st symptoms) welcome to our forum (I've not seen your name before,) ☕🎂🌻I have a cuddle soft toy I bought spring before last, I (named it lamby)

Good morning, yes I am currently suffering bad pain at front of my thighs, I have had it many times before and I think mine is due to a long uncomfortable bus journey on Saturday.
At the moment it’s like a burning pain which also spreads to groin.

Hope you feel better very soon, it’s horrible isn’t it xx
