OMG, that is just awful!! I am so sorry you were ignored like that.
as for a chiropractor, finding a good one of those can be just as difficult as finding a good medical doctor. A good one will do a small bit of massage as they feel for areas that need work the most.. a bad one will just start trying to pop things whether it is needed or not often doing more harm than good.
I would ask around - friends, neighbors, etc, and see what you can find out
Chiropractors all have different methods, and I don't want to let stand the statement that "a good one will do a small bit of massage", because that's not true across the board at all.
There are many ways for a chiropractor to find out what is going on and massage is only one of them.
Some will want x-rays ahead of time.
Mine does muscle testing, others have other methods. I have actually never been to a chiropractor who does any massage at any point, and I have never been to a bad chiropractor.
I do agree that it is hard to find a really super good one like mine. but you can read online reviews, and get recommendations from other people. I have gone so far as to lurk outside a chiropractor's office and ask patients when they came out! But I found the one I have through a recommendation and have been gooing to him for 18 years now. Wouldn't see anyone else.
