I've had chronic pain for more than 20 years as a result of an accident when I was 16. I've had numerous injections into my lower spine (all my lower discs are damaged), and last summer had surgery to replace my C5-C6 with a titanium plate and screws. I continue to have pain in my hips and shoulders and down my legs. My doctor just confirmed I have Fibromyalgia. I had hoped that the surgery would spare me the eternal pain, but it hasn't. It has helped a lot - I was virtually pain free til about 3 months ago, but went to physio and they pushed me too hard and now I am back with chronic pain and massive fatigue, chronic digestive issues and I'm trying to go off some of my many medications. Remaining hopeful that the next phase of my life will be happier and healthier despite this new diagnosis.
