Hi,
I am a nearly 71 year old woman, and I live in a rural area in the SE corner of BC. My husband and I have a small farm (homestead), where we raised our two sons, homeschooled them, and grow most of our own food.
I was diagnosed with FMS in 1994, and then with ME/CFS in 2018. The fibro slowed me down some, but I was able to be a full participant in our life here, until I came down with ME/CFS. For three years, I have been unable to do much of the farm work. I am certainly not bed bound, but, at best, I believe that I have 30% of the energy that I used to have.
For these past three years, I have been trying to manage my illnesses by finding my "energy envelope", with pacing, and resting quite a bit. I still have not figured out this dance of activities and rest, as I still push and crash sometimes.
At present, I am perusing the info I have on pacing, etc., and am really working on keeping records, so I can find out what I can and cannot do.
I am always interested in other's experiences, and any information that will help me get back some of my old energy.
