I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia last week as well by a rheumatologist. I have been treated by a pain specialist for the past 5 yrs. for neck arthritis who never tested me for the tender points that make the diagnosis for fibro. He treated me with Cymbalta and physical therapy which only helped minimally. I came off the Cymbalta and have taken Savella which is similar for a couple yrs. I have the majority of my pain in my neck, shoulders and back of head. There is constant cold air that blows on me at work which seems to be the biggest trigger of pain, as well as, stress. Rheumatologist hasnt been much help either. There is no magic pill that cures this condition. I have tried heat, ice, physical therapy exercises, just about every pain relieving cream made and still suffer every day. My pain doc is a no narcotic doc, so I pretty much have to endure the pain until bedtime when I can take Ambien to get to sleep. I hope the Cymbalta helps you.
