I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 12 years ago and have been under the care of a pain management doctor. Unfortunately all that really works is hydrocodone and I do have issues with my lower back increasing the pain. As I've recently had to change doctors, I'm finding my new doctor has little to no respect for this condition. He is the 3rd pm Dr I've tried, making it look like I'm Dr hopping for meds...which maybe I am. I've heard that I need to see a therapist, unbelief in this condition and that swimming will help. (Which I already do.) I am shocked by the reactions of these doctors, which I had not observed throughout the past 12 years. I joined this forum for some input from others in the same situation. I have tried Lyrics and various other meds but have not found the relief that I get from the pain meds. But...may not be able to continue using them with this newest dr....Please advise...I'd really appreciate it. I have been so lucky that throughout these last 12 years, I have happily lived my life, coping very well with the fibro but now I am becoming depressed dealing with these drs. Thanks!
