It’s time I tell my story.

When you really think about it, how many diseases, illnesses, conditions, etc, have visible signs. Not many. When I walk through a parking lot and I see someone getting in their vehicle, parked in a handicap spot, with a handicap license plate or sticker, but they do not appear to have a...

Noob here. Finally decided to vent...

I hesitate in replying to your post, for fear that what I say will be taken in the wrong way. Not just by you. Please understand that my reply is based on personal experience. Some experts ? say that most FMers (people with fibromyalgia) have had the disorder since childhood. What we once...

They are still on the fence about the connection of Benedryl and dementia. Depends on what study you read. I only take one. Last night when I decided on the weed, I skipped the Benedryl. Also read your cooking tips to sunkacola. Good ideas. I have tried batch cooking. A friend is a big...

    Questions

Good thoughts on cooking. I do enjoy cooking, just have to do it throughout the day. We don't have a Costco or Trader Joe's here. I do like your suggestions. Now I just need to adapt them for my tastes and availability. Will ponder on that. Check in to other stores. Thanks. Usually when...

    Questions

Thank you for taking the time to provide a thorough reply. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. Your assumption of looking for non-prescription sleep aids is correct. I am open to suggestions on everything else as well. Perhaps another post? The only supplements that I take are B-12...

    Questions

I actually did try the memory foam and could hardly get out of it. LOL Which I understand can be an issue for folks with arthritis and older. For me, the issue is not about going to sleep. It's staying asleep.

    Bad night sweats

Depending on where the sweats are, it could be your bedding and or your nightwear. I had uterine cancer, where they removed everything, and because I was already through menopause, I did not have to take hormones. That was over 10 years ago. So, I would not be quick to blame the hormones. I...

    Night pain

I got mine quite a few years ago from Walmart (under $200.) I haven't had any issues with it. Knock on wood!! It's just the bed frame. You put what mattress you want on it.

    Night pain

May I inquire as to what muscle relaxant you use? I have found that even with a small sip of alcohol, my muscles will relax too fast and I end up with spasms. The marijuana is not a problem. It's legal where I live.

    Questions

It's been a bit since I have popped in here. I hope y'all don't mind if I ask a couple of questions, anyway. I'm in need of some advice and out of the box type of solutions. I live with fibromyalgia as well as severe osteoarthritis. My diagnosis for both was back in 1995. Since then, I have...

    Creativity Itch!

There is a lot to be said for Art Therapy. One thing I would suggest is to try drawing your own body, and put in the critical pain areas. You can be a stick person, or however you can create the image of your body. You might enjoy it.

    Creativity Itch!

Then I would definitely do my research. There's a lot online. I know there is a difference in colored pencils. I finally went with the oil based ones (Artnfly). Even then, if you want to blend better, you can use some baby oil, to make the colored area more smooth. Also note your paper...

    Hello

There are so many different levels of Fibromyalgia. I am blessed to have the milder form, I suppose. Some days, it doesn't feel like I do, but then I visit groups, such as this one, and realize how lucky I am. Since I don't care for boots, I am definitely luckier than you...lol. That made me...

Storms, Heat, and Humidity oh my!

I have often wondered about the drier climate states. I lived in Arizona many years ago, before Fibro. We had so many folks come down there in the winter from their home states, which were usually more northern states. They called them "Snow birds". Perhaps they knew something we haven't...
