Friday 12/19 - Christmas Cookies

Hi everyone...countdown to Christmas...how's your 'to do' list coming along?
So since this is the first year I'm not bogged down with a job, I decided to make Christmas cookies to share with friends and neighbors. My first batch on Tuesday of this week was Mexican Wedding Cookies, which are basically round butter cookies with walnuts rolled in confectioner's sugar. Forgot to tell the hubby that they weren't just for him...LOL! Guess they were good as he ate them all.
Yesterday I made cut out sugar cookies in various Christmas molds and two batches of creamy pralines (southern girl from New Orleans so these are a staple). Today I hope to tackle peanut butter fudge and make more Mexican wedding cookies.
I had Taylor Swift's new cd playing in the kitchen while I was making cookies and her song, 'Shake it Off' was appropriate for me if you would have seen the amount of flour on me from rolling out the dough.
By 3 p.m. I needed to rest, darn fibro fatigue comes on pretty heavy so I got off my feet for awhile.
On a different note, why is it always at Christmas time that so many people die? In the last two weeks, 4 friends have lost family members..so sad for their loss at Christmas time. Treasure the people you love and be sure to express your affection for them.
Hugs to you all and wishing you energy and less pain through this Christmas week.
Jesus is the reason for the season!
